Former Clemson offensive tackle Jake Fruhmorgen will reportedly visit LSU this week, according to 247Sports.

The former four-star recruit from Tampa, FL (Plant HS) started the first eight games of the 2016 season before he was sidelined with a shoulder injury.

On Monday, former Clemson offensive tackle Jake Fruhmorgen will travel to Baton Rouge to spend a few days on LSU's campus, multiple sources confirmed with the Geaux247 staff. Fruhmorgen will get the chance to sit down with the coaching staff during his stay, and LSU has expressed interest in adding him to the roster if he chooses to transfer to Baton Rouge.

Fruhmorgen has received his release from Clemson after announcing his decision to transfer last month. If he transfers to an FBS school, Fruhmorgen would sit out one season before being able to see the field. As a sophomore this past fall, he started the first eight games of the at tackle for Clemson before suffering a shoulder injury. As a freshman the year prior, Fruhmorgen made one start in 11 games and recorded seven knockdowns on 245 snaps
LSU only signed 23 players on National Signing Day and head coach Ed Orgeron said that they could posisbly add a few more players this offseason.

At least his old man has credibility. He played at Alabama and the Dolphins. He was a year ahead of me at our high school. Jake's high school coach was also an alum of Tampa Jesuit from that era.

I hope the staff does a thorough background check to find out what kind of personal problems he has before wasting a scholarship on him. That said, if he pans out he would be a welcome addition to an already stout offensive line class. He may have better luck getting his job back with Clemson. We got some beasts coming in this season!

LSU recruits the ghettos of Nola. Pretty sure they have the background checking thing down pat.

He was upset with the coaching/ training staff for trying to get him to play through the injury. He wanted to let the injury heal

Probably lost his spot after getting hurt.

Seems a bit early in his career to transfer if he was upset over losing his spot after an injury.

I think that the kid who replaced him was a freshman. Good luck ever getting your spot back.
