LSU pass rusher Arden Key and linebacker Donnie Alexander did not travel with the team to Knoxville for Saturday's game vs. Tennessee, according to The Advocate:

Both players suffered injuries vs. Arkansas last Saturday and missed most of LSU's practices this week.

True freshman K’Lavon Chaisson will replace Key, while fellow true freshman Tyler Taylor will fill in for Alexander.

Edge rusher Arden Key and inside linebacker Donnie Alexander, both battling injuries, are not available for Saturday night’s game at Neyland Stadium, multiple sources confirmed to The Advocate. Their absence thrusts two true freshmen back into starting roles: Tyler Taylor, for Alexander, and K’Lavon Chaisson, for Key.

Key and Alexander sustained injuries in last week’s win over Arkansas. Key injured his knee late in the first quarter before playing the next two quarters. Alexander injured his shoulder or neck in the first half before finishing the game. Neither player was spotted at practice Monday-Wednesday.

Key will be ready in a week, can't be that badly hurt. He hardly played all year. Key played in 5 games this year ?

What keeps them from traveling? Therapy?

Limited # allowed on travel squad, so you’re better off bringing others who may contribute. It’s tough, but that’s how it is.

If there's any game they can afford to miss, it's this one. Rest easy, Tiger Nation.

Huh? We have lost to Mississippi State and fricking Troy. There are quite literally no games we can afford to have starters miss.

I hope Coach O doesn’t feel that way. Tennessee has owned LSU for years and if the Tigers don’t give it 100% for 60 minutes, they will likely be disappointed in the morning. I think these type of games show what your coaching staff is made of. Everyone telling the team it’s a sure win when there is no such thing. I hope O doesn’t let the team fall victim to the hype. We are the superior team, but we still have to geaux out and prove it! Play hard Tigers!

Totally fine with this. 10 wins is very attainable, need them for A&M and the bowl. Plus Chaisson and Tyler get much needed road reps. Those 2 guys are prolly hungry, they'll step up.

With 2 against teams with winning records in the regular season. One of which barely (TAMU). Don’t brag about 10 wins. You can sleep walk through this garbage this season and win. 3 losses came against teams with winning records.

Agreed Chaisson and Tyler need the snaps. Chassion has the tools to be the next Key, Mingo, etc. excited about his next 2 - 3 years.
