Edward Aschoff with ESPN.com ranked LSU as the third best coaching job in the SEC based on "location, tradition, support, fan bases, facilities and recruiting access."

Here is what he had to say:
quote:

3. LSU: It has the luxury of being one of the few schools across the country that is the team in its state. Prospects across Louisiana, which also has a tremendous amount of elite talent, grow up wanting to play for the Tigers. The facilities are top-notch, the fan base is incredible and chaotic, and that immense, intimidating stadium just got bigger. Nick Saban helped LSU become a premier program, but Les Miles has done a great job continuing that since his arrival in 2005.
Complete Rankings:
1. Florida
2. Alabama
3. LSU
4. Georgia
5. Texas A&M
6. Auburn
7. Tennessee
8. Arkansas
9. South Carolina
10. Ole Miss
11. Missouri
12. Mississippi State
13. Kentucky
14. Vanderbilt

Homer ranking of Florida by Aschoff. Their facilities are behind others in the SEC. Shouldn't be ranked No. 1.

Tennessee is too low. Definitely should be ahead of Auburn and A&M. I would say 1-Bama; 2-LSU; 3-Florida; 4-UGA; 5-Auburn; 6-A&M; 7-Mizzou and the rest in varying order. However, there is not a whole lot of difference between the top7. All are heavy hitters with A&M being somewhat of a newcomer. I see UT on the rise and USCe on the decline. The Mississippi schools are flash in the pan. Arkansas simply doesn't have the recruiting base or history in the SEC to be ranked very high. The rest, take your pick.

LSU/Alabama should be 1A/1B

The top 4 could be any order, all have distinct advantages, but then a drop off to the rest.

I think Florida is too high. That state is a hotbed, but not even it can support three major teams, along with a few solid mid-majors and pretty much every team in the SEC picking your pocket.
