Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
Bleacher Report columnist Brian Pedersen ranked the top 50 college football players after 2016 spring practice and three players from LSU made the list, including junior running back Leonard Fournette who landed at No. 4.

Here was the Top 5:

1. Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford
2. Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson
3. Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State
4. Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU
5. J.T. Barrett, QB, Ohio State

Here is what they had to say about Fournette:
quote:

Leonard Fournette can run around most defenders, but with a monstrous body like his, why bother? As defenders who tried to tackle him the past two seasons have found out, he doesn't go down easily and rarely on first contact.

“Fournette is a freak,” Bleacher Report's Barrett Sallee said. “He has the speed of a track star, the power of a Mack truck and the vision of a seasoned veteran. He's one of those players who can succeed even when everybody knows he's getting the ball. Simply put, he's better than anybody he faces, and he knows it.”
LSU junior safety Jamal Adams was ranked No. 17 and senior linebacker Kendell Beckwith landed at No. 47

McCaffrey had a good year overall, but people are putting way too much stock in him destroying a shitty Iowa team that had one 7th round pick and one top prospect for 2017.

I don't put stock into that, I put stock in the fact that he threw a TD (2) ran for a TD (8) caught a TD (5) scored on a KR (1) scored on a PR (1) If the head coach didn't give it to the senior RB at the goal line every game, He'd have 12-15 more rushing TDs.

Watson, McCaffrey (only because he does everything for Stanford except tackle and kick), Fournette, Cook, and a take your pick defensive stud. That's my top 5. No way Cook should be over Fournette. Having bad games vs Houston and Boston College is not near the same thing as having a bad game vs Alabama's front nine. Yes, I said nine. You don't think we saw those safeties running up most of the game as soon as the ball was snapped?
