Former LSU head coach Les Miles sat down for an exclusive interview this week with Tom Rinaldi that will air on ESPN Gameday this Saturday sometime between 9:10 and 9:25 CT.

In the preview below, Miles said that he has no problem being defined by the last play of the Auburn game last week.

Excuse my typos please. But point is to be a players coach, you cant put yourself at the forefront. What Miles is doing right now may potentially negatively affect these players. He shouldnt even want it to be talked about.

Guava, far different scenario. I was a high school wrestling coach a while back, and I was forced to stop mid season in my second year of coaching, because I had been certified yet. I didn't get upset I didn't protest or say the things I wanted to say because I didn't want to make it about me negatively affect my wrestlers. I told them go kick some butt and finish the year and hopefully I'll be back next season. Afterwards because I didn't get mad or frustrated with anyone, the school paid for me to be certified and allowed me to return to coaching the wrestling team the next season. You're a players coach in your about your players, you never make it about you. That is the biggest lesson I learned from coaching, and I try to apply it to life, that it is not about you and most scenarios.

Would you put the interests of a company that fired you above your own? ...Didn't think so.

I also think he's being extremely selfish right now, doing interviews, saying if he had an extra second he'd still be the coach. All of these comments are self serving. This can only be a distraction to the team, and a distraction to the new coach search. The players deserve better, please soare them your pity party Les, because they didnt fire you and this isnt helping their season. Les used to be a players coach. At some point that changed, he constantly blamed the players for "execution" as the reasons we played bad, even this self-serving interview totally disregards the players are going to be questioned endlessly this season about this type of bullshite. Instead of being about them and their football game, he's making it about how he got fired. In my opinion he shouldn't say anything at all about any of this, Les should decline the interviews, and spare the players this nonsense.

So you're saying he is wrong for putting his own interests above a team from which he was just fired? God, some of y'all are naïve.

Golden age I disagree. Im a huge sunshine pumper, and was always a diligent Miles supporter. But I'm done listening to Miles' b.s. We played horrible the entire Auburn game, and we blew time management to end the game. Les is a much better coach than that game and the end of it, where we WASTED precious seconds that could've won it. He should have admitted his time management gaffe, and how it pit us in position to only have one second for a play. To me this is similiar to how Les refuses to say "we lost" and instead says we finished "second." Delusional to me. Love him, but it was time to move on.

Why does he have to say anything? He doesn't work for lsu anymore. Where some coaches would be bitter and say negative things about the former employer and how the last 11 months were handled, Les Miles has had nothing but kindness for his. But like I said, I do agree his coaching has had a decline the past few seasons. However, I'm not in agreement with everyone talking shite about the best coach in lsu history who really raised the bar and set the standard all of the fans are expecting. Les miles elevated LSU football, and to not admit that is delusional.

Its not just a job and a co. Its coaching, and a whole team of players is involved.

Y'all need to lighten up. This is the guy who came in after y'all had nick sabans cock so far down yalls throat and did what no other man has ever done here. Yeah, there were a lot of dumbass play calls and things he did, but it doesn't compare to the things he accomplished. To sit here and act like we've ever had better is stupid. I love les miles but I think it was time for a change. To sit here and act like he was a dumbass or didn't get anything done though, is pure ignorance. I'm apologize for the rant, but people have beat this dead horse enough.

Golden, see my post above. If you're about the players, then make it about the players, and spare them the media shite storm that they're going to have to deal with when you ESPN plays this out over and over and over. Like I said I was the coach relieved of my duty mid season, and I wanted to say things in my defense. But it was more important not to so that my wrestlers were not negatively affected in so that they could focus on wrestling their tournaments, and not losing their coach.

*a coach. If you or guava cant see that this is bad for the players, I dont know what to tell you. Put your players first. Miles is not doing that right now.

It's this kind of thought process that eventually cost him his job. Up until now, he still thinks that he did everything right and that one second is the difference between win and lose. Sigh.

This unknowingly time at LSU is fun. With the athletes we have on our team and in Lousiana makes me believe things will only go north

If only he loved it enough to put it above his selfish notion that 1980s smash mouth football was still a valid offensive game scheme then he'd still be here.
