This past weekend LSU head coach Ed Orgeron spoke with ESPN’s Marty and McGee and was confident that the upcoming college football season would start on time.

On Monday, ESPN's Heather Dinich and Paul Finebaum both spoke about Orgeron's optimism. Per 247Sports:
quote:

“To be clear, the decision makers start with the coronavirus and then go to the SEC medical advisory panel,” Dinich said. “But one source told me they expect to make a decision next week, as in by July 31st as to whether or not the season can start on time. If it can't, they might push it back to September 19th or to October 3rd. If you get into October to start the season, the SEC might say okay we're going to a conference only schedule. But equally important, they could go conference only plus one to preserve those (cross conference rivalries). As much as Coach O wants to play, it's really not quite in his hands at this point.”

ESPN radio host Paul Finebaum added his love for Coach O but being optimistic might not be enough at the moment as the college football world will have to rely on data.

“I love his optimism but...and he is the embodiment of a head football coach, optimism is not going to get the season started on time,” Finebaum said. “The numbers are. We all know what's going on. I don't know what will change from today to next week. It's unlikely the spikes are going to stop. Unfortunately they are facing a delay in the college football season.”

Finebaum is just an ESPN shill who supports the party line of canceling everything

Paul Finebaum passed away 5 years ago. He just doesn't know it. The man looks ill like a corpse.

One would think that everyone at the SECN, espn etc... would be as positive as possible about football taking place. It doesn't help them one bit to continue to be negative.

I wonder what it feels like to have a hand shoved up your arse to move your mouth Finebaum. Talking heads are always for the establishment. Coach O is for LSU, COLLEGE FOOTBALL, AND HIS PLAYERS....... Go to a hospital website and take the test to detect COVID-19 -- guaranteed you have symptoms. And they count this plus all those you've been in contact with as cases. Common sense [which our government lacks] will help keep the season on track.

Paul Finebum is doing what he has been told to do and saying what he has been told to say. It is that simple.

Start the season November 4th when the virus miraculously goes away.

IT has nothing to do with the virus. It is only about un-electing the sitting president. This is about control, not health. Who will bow down and obey. It's the soft run to see who is compliant.

I’ve been reading the data. Most of these experts are not considering the data from Europe or anywhere else. This will be mostly a political decision based on what the legacy media approve. At this time they are anti American and college football must be shut down.

You, Cajun sir, are correct. This is a political decision and the media is driving the bus.

The more of us who don't accept this governmental bullshite and talk about it the better. Covid-19 exists but the numbers and reaction to it are bogus.

"Most of these experts are not considering the data from Europe or anywhere else." They aren't as interested in European data because Europe shows data from compliant citizens, not people wanting to ignore safeguards as a misguided signal of patriotism.

Coach has said numerous times he knows it isn’t up to him. Why do they act like they’re proving him wrong on something he’s not expected to know.

Today’s delay is next month’s cancellation. The media will have us hunkered down in our homes until November or later

"I love his optimism, but I'm bought-and-paid-for and my overlord, Disney/ABC/ESPN, wants me to promote the idea that the virus will keep everything in shutdown mode until after Trump is defeated in November."

“Optimism is not going to get the season started on time,” Finebaum said.” Well crap, I thought that was our golden ticket!

I have never understood why ESPN employs talentless people such as Heather Dinich and Paul Finebaum.

If Biden is elected all concerns about Covid will disappear.
