NFL Media analyst Charley Casserly of NFL.com recently released his mock draft 1.0 and has three LSU players projected as first-round draft picks.

Casserly has pass rusher Arden Key going 18th overall to the Seattle Seahawks, running back Derrius Guice going 28th overall to the Pittsburg Steelers, and cornerback Donte Jackson going to 32nd overall to the Philadelphia Eagles.
quote:

Pick No. 18 - Seattle Seahawks:
Arden Key - DE, LSU
"With questions about whether Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril will be with the Seahawks next season, a pass rusher will be needed."

Pick No. 28 - Pittsburg Steelers:
Derrius Guice - RB, LSU
"I am not optimistic the Steelers will get a long-term deal done with Le'Veon Bell, which is why Guice makes sense here."

Pick No. 32 - Philadelphia Eagles:
Donte Jackson - CB, LSU
"Philly has worked to improve the CB position, but the Eagles still need help there."

NFL scouts are intelligent enough to know that when they get kids from LSU, they're getting high level kids who are still developing. Not only will these guys potentially go 1st, you'll see Lacouture, Gilmore, Herron, Chark, Williams, KT, etc. all drafted as well.

If we do lose Bell, I'll be freaking pissed first of all, but I'd love to have Guice go to Pittsburgh.

Might be the least productive LSU player ever to be selected in the 1st round

Extremely impressed with Barkley's highlights, dude is electric and deserves to be the first RB taken...but no one should be surprised if Guice ends up being the better pro. Violent runner, just as fast, patient runner with quick burst, and played better competition.

While losing out on the initial huge deal, the upside of going lower in the 1st round is you likely end up with a better organization (Seahawks, Steelers, Eagles). And the money is still REALLY good.

It would be cool to see donte' Jackson in the same defensive backfield with jalen Mills too. I would like to see that as well.

Guide would be a perfect fit for the steelers. I would love to see him in their offense.

Guice as a Steeler would be an amazing fit. They also rely considerably on their RB's to pass block and Guice really excels in that facet.

I have a hard time believing Donte Jackson is a first rounder. Best of luck to the guy, but c'mon.

If he has a monster combine (dude has a legit outside chance at setting the 40yd dash record) it is possible. Out of all the LSU players going to the combine Donte has the best chance to greatly improve his stock. Darryl Williams as well.

He definitely has an opportunity to be a first rounder. With his measurables, speed/quickness, and ball skills, he has a great chance if he has a good combine. He's an athletic freak.
