Brandon Gallego / LSU Athletics
Myles Brennan will have some big shoes to fill when he steps out on the field at Tiger Stadium on Saturday, replacing Heisman Trophy quarterback Joe Burrow.

Brennan spoke with media on Tuesday and was asked about what its going to be like to follow in Burrow's footsteps...
quote:

"It doesn't change anything for me," Brennan said. "Joe came in here and he did his thing and what he did was great, but it's my turn to do my thing & write my own story."

I learned a lot from Joe and I took things he did well and I used them to better myself but the past is the past. I'm looking forward to being able to play this season and on Saturday."

It sounds like he is tired of being asked aboot Joe when people come to interview him. He liked Joe. Joe helped him. Joe was good. Stop asking.

I remember when Burrow went from having 16 TDS to 60 TDs in one year...sooooo...I believe

It’s unfair to judge anyone based one someone else, and it places a very unfair measuring stick upon them to live up to. Myles needs to be Myles and play loose to be successful. Nip this shite in the bud.

Good for him knowing he won't be Joe. He does get to write his own story and appears to be level headed. I'm anxious to see the new frosh begin their careers.

Very excited for Brennan. Think he will be a great tiger. He has had time to learn and develop in the LSU system, something almost foreign.

Hope our fans are patient with him...we can’t expect him to be anything like Joe, when he has never started a game....

I think he’ll be a lot better than Joe was in his first year here though. And he has started and played in quite a few games. His freshman year but that adds value imo. He’s also been here much longer than joe so he knows these players and coaches. He knows this system and I believe he’s going to be just fine!

Want them to shut up about Joe, just win baby.

So theoretically, he can play 3 more seasons since this year doesn’t count? Is that correct?

He’s going to be good. Following Burrow is a tough act but Brennan will do fine.

Ojulari and Gilbert sound like they will both be beast from day 1. Coaches and players alike can't stop talking about them.

Just a reminder, Myles Brennan is the only high school QB in Mississippi to ever throw for over 15,000 yards in his high school career. Being from MS, the state has put out some great QB’s. Geaux Tigas!
