John Ross of the Cincinnati Bengals holds the record for the fastest 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine at 4.22 but Donte Jackson is hoping to break the record later this month in Indianapolis.

Jackson recently spoke with NFL.com about Ross' speedy 40-yard dash and recalls watching it live last year with teammates.
quote:

Jackson told NFL Network's Jane Slater that he's working toward breaking Ross' record. He should have as good a shot at it as anyone at this year's combine. Jackson, who was training Wednesday at the Michael Johnson Performance headquarters in McKinney, Texas, said he's been timed as fast as 4.24 seconds in the 40.

Ross, a first-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in 2017, broke Chris Johnson's record of 4.24 seconds, which stood for nine years.

"That was huge. I was watching it," Jackson recalled of Ross' record-breaking run. "A lot of guys on my team we were all watching it like, 'You're going to beat that. You're going to beat that.' It was cool to see. It was cool to see somebody actually went out there and broke it."

He’ll fly past the WR he is supposed to be covering.

Is there a push people out of bounds drill?

If he intends to break the record, he prolly needs to become a tad more aerodynamic, as in getting a haircut, lol.

Was just thinking he'd have to cut the hair to shave some time.

Learn to tackle and play man. Don’t let your man beat you so bad off the line that he has a 5 TD cushion for the QB to throw in.

Oh yea, you are fast, but you can't catch a hot butter biscuit and if it wasn't for your ability to push guys out of bounds, your tackle stats would suck. Better impress at the combine you can actually tackle. They know you are fast.

I love Jackson but if Trindon couldn't beat it I don't think any Tiger can. Trindon was a world class sprinter and fell short.
