LSU's 45-38 win over No. 9 Texas last weekend in Austin was the most-watched football game of the season with a viewership of 8,633,000, according to resident sports nerd Darren Rovell.

Auburn's win over Orgeron in Week 1 was the second most-watched game of the season with a viewership of 6,863,000.

Having high profile out of conference games needs to have more weight - LSU should be #2 based on merit, only behind Clemson (with Clemson beating A&M). Bama keeps playing scrubs before conference play yet they stay super high in the rankings. Although rankings don’t matter this early in the season, if every year is treated individually, top teams that play cupcakes should be lower and teams that play hard schedules should be rewarded.
