LSU defensive back Kenan Jones announced Thursday that he has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Jones, a sophomore from Berwick, Louisiana, came to LSU as four-star wide receiver and made the move to safety this season.

The transfer portal allows schools to now recruit Jones but he could also remove his name if he chooses to remain at LSU.

Noooooooooooooooo, dude is going to start somewhere else. Was thinking some of the injuries would have allowed him to get some reps.

I do not like it during the season; however, coaches and administration can leave whenever they want, players should be able to do that as well. During the year, just seems shady, but when you make the 4 games or less rule people will use it.

Players can't leave on a whim in the NFL. Where do some of you get the idea college players are all free agents? Hell, why even have a signing day? Let's just start football season on day every year and just see who shows up on the 1st day and then week to week. College Football was never intended to be a profession. It was a way to get an education. All these kids who say that a University is "selling their jersey" are wrong unless the jersey bears their name. Schools should simply not put a players name on jerseys. For instance, LSU #7. Who owns that number? LSU does.

They should make it so only juniors and seniors can transfer, when your eligible to go pro you can transfer...

Call me old fashion, but this is such bullshite and DURING THE SEASON. Not liking where the college game is going.

You're old fashioned. Coaches and programs game the shite out of players all the time. I have zero problem with the transfer portal.

Cant blame the kid. He wants to play. Wish him well.

That is simply a way of saying he wants to go where he doesn't have to compete. He could play at LSU but isn't willing to put out the effort required.

Respect his decision

Wait.... I respected his decision when he first came here. Should I change my respect?

I'd have respected his decision if he decided to transfer during the summer, not leave the team mid-season. The NCAA needs to review their new 4 game redshirt rule because its having a negative effect of all these players playing 3-4 games, then quitting on their team mid-season to transfer and doesn't cost them a year of eligibility.

Don’t blame the kid. Seems like he just wasn’t gonna find the field here. I wish he would have stayed and stuck it out but I get it. Best of luck to him.

He was going to get time with Todd Harris gone for the year along with Kary Vincent.

Are we about to get put in probation by the NCAA? Is something big about to go down

I’m am about to be down to zero fricks rather than come here, stay here or leave here. We have kids literally getting playing time or fixing to be that leave Maybe it is a good sign and O is telling them to hit the bricks if they can’t buy in. No bad actors need apply

Kids today need to work harder to be better instead of taking the easy way out..

The ncaa needs to stop giving these kids free agency. It is ridiculous.

If that's the boy from Berwick, I didnt think he could ever play over there anyway. No hard feelings

Great kid but the talent he played in high school was terrible. I think he will be able to do well at a smaller school. Best of luck to him though

Yes confusing. Harris is out with Jones up and he leaves. Guess he thinks he should be on field more than Vincent?
