Four-star LSU running back commit Trey Holly now holds the Louisiana High School record for rushing yards.

Holly set the record of 8,708 yards, passing Nick Brossette (8,704), in his dominant performance on Friday night when Unior Parish beat Bastrop 62-12. He ran the ball 21 times for 250 yards and four touchdowns in the win. Per TheNewStar:

Holly had been in pursuit of the Louisiana high school all-time rushing record since starting varsity as an eighth grader. The LSU commit rushed for 250 yards and four touchdowns on 21 carries Friday, pushing his career total past Nick Brossette's 8,704-yards set from 2010-14 at University High in Baton Rouge. Similar to Brossette, Holly plans to continue playing football at LSU.

Holly's career total went to 8,708 after a 13-yard touchdown run. After the extra point, Holly exited the game. With at least six more games of football left in the season, Holly said he's not done yet.

"I want to set this record high," Holly said. " I want this record to be where nobody can reach it – all gas, no breaks."

I want to say I heard he’s only 21 TDs away from setting that record as well.

Not sure how many games he has left, but he’s on pace to shatter the record. Anyone know if playoff game stats are included in these records?

Kid's built like a cannon ball. The future is bright for him and LSU. Stay healthy young man!

He sat out most second halves in 2020. Could have broken the record last year.
