A Grand Jury rejected the attempted murder charge against suspended LSU running back Trey Holly on Friday.

Holly was still charged with one felony count of illegal use of a weapon or dangerous instrumentality in connection to a shooting in his hometown back in February.

He will plead not guilty to those charges, according to his lawyer.

LSU head coach Brian Kelly spoke with reporters Saturday and commented on the latest news regarding Holly:

Let's not pretend that there aren't any thug gangsters on football teams. Just writing this off as if this dude is innocent is homerism at its finest. ALSO, let's not pretend that innocent people don't get falsely accused of crimes. Thinking he is automatically guilty is folly as well. These type of incidents require time for the process to play out, so everyone needs to chill out on both sides here. Nobody knows the truth yet.

50/50 chance. In any case CBK needs another experienced RB to add to the depth in the RB room.

Do other teams besides LSU have this happen yearly? Seems like there's always a couple big things like this that happen to LSU players dating back as far as I remember to Jordan Jefferson at Shadys bar fight

I would let the felony weapon case play out before dying on this mountain. It is a pretty big deal when a DA cant get a grand jury to follow his lead and its rather obvious they overplayed their hand once already.

I think I can say that we're all relieved that it's not your decision to make.

Could be a case of wrong place wrong time also. I know I was there a number of times as a young adult. Had to make a decision to get away from some friends that were heading in the wrong direction. And that was in the 80’s. Whole other ballgame these days.

Hey Jab, it’s “presumed “ innocent. Don’t leave out the most important word. Then again “in a court of law” is pertinent also. Not in the court of opinion. My opinion says he gets off the first one because of who he is.

How about he gets off if he's innocent. No
