When contacted by NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune, Rettig said he was transferring but would not elaborate further. An LSU official confirmed that Rettig is transferring. One possible destination is Boston College, where his brother, Chase, was a three-year starter from 2011-13.
Rettig, a four-star quarterback out of Los Angeles (Cathedral High School) was third on the depth chart behind sophomore Anthony Jennings and freshman Brandon Harris.

I wish the young man success wherever he goes. I truly thought he would be a starter at LSU. Good luck.

hate to see that, as I feel like he would have played at some point...best of luck to him, though...

Boy I think it's a mistake but best of luck anyway. One guy gets hurt and your playing if the other doesn't cut it. Or wait a couple years and play as a junior or senior getting coaches by one if the best in the business?! These guys want too much too early these days. Good things will come if you just wait a little while.
