Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
Jim Kleinpeter with NOLA.com is reporting that LSU freshman offensive lineman Chidi Valentine-Okeke will not report to campus on Saturday because of an eligibility issue.
quote:

Valentine-Okeke, a 6-feet-6, 315-pounder from Decatur, Ga., had his ACT score flagged by the NCAA and might have to retake the test, the source said. Valentine-Okeke's score jumped more than the allotted four points from a previous test.
Kleinpeter reports that the next scheduled ACT testing will take place on June 13.

So your ACT score cannot jump more than 4 points from a previous one. Do they discourage improvement?

If the NCAA does not get him, the SEC will.

Did they get a report from somewhere in Bama to be on the look out?

My ACT went from 26 to 32 in my 2 takes

Yep....he's this year's Trevonte Valentine. If the NCAA clears him to play, you can be sure that the SEC head office will find some way to sideline him.

Well damn, I would have been very close to getting flagged since mine jumped 4 points. Is that really that big of a jump to cause someone to retake?

two years running with 5 star linemen being blocked by grades. Do other schools have this frequency with qualifying 5 star athletes?

Well, this is a great sign that Chidi has enough talent to scare the SEC's "Competition Committee"

I was told by my Guidance Counselor to do the best that I could. How do you take the test and make sure you do not increase the score by 4 points. I think the Clearinghouse are Morons!!

Wow, what a tough rule, so I guess it doesn't pay to guess right for athletes on a guessing game test...Isn't it still a multiple choice test?

I know someone who took the test 4 times and scored 19 each time. But evey time he took the test his scores would change where his high from the test before would slide and the ones he did poorly in would rise. If you combined his highs on the four test his score would have been 26 or 27. Some kids just don't test well. This guy is actually very intelligent and was an A B student though out his school years.

What does the act even matter? They aren't getting academic schollies! Just let am enroll and hold them to the rules for staying eligible.

My God, the whole fricking point of high school is to get smarter each year.

I wonder if a higher institution would pull an academic scholly of the kid had improved 4 points in one year?

Probably to avoid academic fraud like UNC did.

My ACT score jumped from a 24 to a 29 between the first and second time I took it, fwiw. Third time I got a 30. It's amazing what a prep course can do.
