LSU LB Duke Riley: Dave Aranda Is The Best Thing That Has Ever Happened To Me"
by TD Staff ReporterOctober 27, 2016

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
LSUSports.net reporter Emily Dixon recently caught up with senior linebacker Duke Riley for the latest edition of Inside the Huddle.
Dixon asked Riley about defensive coordinator Dave Aranda, new head coach Ed Orgeron and the upcoming game against Alabama.
Question: Describe DC Dave Aranda for us:
"He's honestly the best thing to ever happen to me. He just coaches us like grown men. He doesn't have us out there thinking too much. We're just out there playing fast and physical."
Q: On Ed Orgeron taking over as head coach:
"The main thing he wanted to do was to bring us all closer together, make it all connect. Making us all one heartbeat, one team."
Q: On getting over the hump against Alabama:
"Let's be honest, we all know the past history with Alabama. I haven't won a game against them since I've been here. I don't want that feeling leaving here."
"We know it's going to be a dogfight. We have to give everything we got, we know we have to be perfect. We're going to play fast and physical."

The players deserve the best. The changes have been a shot in the arm to the entire roster and staff.

That is how you sound confident without sounding cocky. I really like his attitude.

I dunno, more and more I think about it, I'm thinking Aranda needs to be at the top of that second group of candidates if the Hermans, Jimbos, and Kellys fall by the wayside.

Duke Riley went from maybe a camp invitee to potentially getting drafted. Helluva turnaround!!

He has had a VERY GOOD season to date, exceeded my expectations. Was concerned about his size, but that has not been a factor. Hope he can get off/avoid the OL blocks, and make some plays next Sat, GT!
