LSU junior defensive tackle Greg Gilmore met with the media on Monday and talked about fellow teammate Travonte Valentine who recently rejoined the team.

Gilmore, who has been taking most of the first team snaps at tackle, is currently competing with Valentine for the starting spot.
quote:

"He's a massive body," Gilmore said. "He's very heavy, and he eats double teams up. Not just taking double teams, he's pushing them back"
Gilmore suggested that if Valentine works on his technique and learns the playbook, that he will be "unstoppable."
quote:

"If we teach him the technique, he's going to be unstoppable. And he's already real good."

"After practice we work on our plays," Gilmore said. "He has to learn the defense, has to learn the concepts, and we need to drill that in to his head everyday. That's the most important part."

It's becoming clear why the SEC home office (gumps) refused to clear him, even though the NCAA already had.
