Per LSUSports.net: OXFORD, Miss. -- Entering shark-infested waters, it's safe to say Derrius Guice did all the eating Saturday night in Oxford.

The LSU running back had 276 rushing yards to lead the 24th-ranked Tigers past Ole Miss, 40-24.

The total was third-highest in school history - behind his LSU-record 285 yards last season at Texas A&M - and the 15th-best in SEC history.

275 yards was expected from RB Derrius Guice against the poor run defense of Ole Miss but 103 rushing and 105 receiving was not expected from RB Darrel Williams, not expected but not surprising. People forget D. Williams was a high 4* RB and the second best RB out of Louisiana behind only all-world RB Leonard Fournette. I remember when Fournette committed to LSU and the first thing I thought was we're going to lose RB Darrel Williams but we didn't and like the true trooper he is he played second fiddle to Fournette. Then the next year we signed RB Derrius Guice and pushed Williams to the third RB still he didn't complain and did his part. And the following year Guice became the starter and Williams was relegated to backup, he didn't cry, whine. bitch or complain he just did whatever the coaches ask of him. This people is what you call LOYALTY! I mean in this day and age of college football how many kids as talented as Williams is would show that much loyalty to a program when he could've left and started at many, many other programs. So from now on when start thinking how selfish college players are just think about our own Darrel Williams and the loyalty he displayed through out his whole career as a Tiger and feel really good that kid is one of us. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!

Love Guice's quote, "we're LSU, we need to act like it" GEAUX TIGERS!

Because SamboDean, last time I checked, the 3rd quarter is part of that 60 minutes, and they ran the ball straight up the middle of our defense repeatedly for huge gains! That has to be fixed!

I'm pumped for Williams. Guy just stays quiet and does everything that is asked of him...

DW is that blue-collar workhorse that earns every inch he gains. A great Tiger. Nice to see him recognized in a game that DG threw dick punch after dick punch all night long.

Enjoyed the big win over rival Ole Miss. Three things to work on during bye week. Pass protection still not very good. Run defense was gashed up the middle particularly in the 3rd quarter. Kickoffs and return coverage were awful again. Also, a lack of focus for 60 minutes by the defense kept the Rebels within striking distance. Must clean these things up before Bama. Positives: The offense was clicking. Canada exposed the Rebels weak run defense all night and mixed in some nice play action passes and shuttle passes for nice gains. Guice and Williams were awesome. Etling was steady, even though he was under duress most of the night. Key was back in form finally. Delpit, Greedy, and Tolliver were big time. And yes, Coach, we have a kicker in Connor Culp! Accentuate the positives. Eliminate the negatives. Play 60 minutes. And kick Bama’s arse in 2 weeks!

How can you say that they’re not focused for 60 minutes when they’ve only given up 7 points in the 4qtr of the last three games?

Great Tiger win. Our RB's carried the load. Our OL is growing up. Defense played pretty good. But let's also remember who we played. LMAO
