Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports
LSU senior cornerback Kristian Fulton will be wearing No. 1 for the Tigers this upcoming season, taking over the number from former defensive back Kelvin Joseph who is transferring.

Fulton was previously wearing No. 22 for the Tigers.

Shea Dixon of 247Sports was the first to notice the number change on LSU's roster page.

Joseph, who announced he is officially in the NCAA transfer portal, is no longer listed on the roster page.

Man, I hope Fulton gets all of the awards he deserves this year. The kid stuck it out and now is looked at as the premiere cb in all of the ncaa.

It's fitting that a guy who stayed through all kinds of adversity and made the most of his opportunities when given the chance takes the number of a guy who appeared to runaway from a challenge and look for an easier possibly more entitled path. I expect the real #1 CB will show the former what hard work and commitment look like this year.
