New quarterback Husan Longstreet got his first taste of LSU's spring practice on Tuesday and delivered this no-look pass to transfer tight end Malachi Thomas, who reeled in the one-handed catch:

Here's some more action from Longstreet on Day 1 of LSU's spring practice.

Longstreet, a former five-star passer from Corona, Calif., was rated a top-five quarterback in the country for the class of 2025 and was recruited by Lane Kiffin when he was at Ole Miss.

Longstreet appeared in four games for USC last season as a backup and completed 13 of 15 passes for 103 yards and one touchdown. He added 76 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

He will have four years of eligibility remaining at LSU.

Agreed. Learn the system, learn from Leavitt, get some valuable PT this season, and turn him loose in 27.

They beat Clemson last year, but that’s pretty much all they did.

“Just beat Clemson” is definitely not enough.

He needs to shorten that release. He looks like he’s playing shortstop.

His release is quick. His throwing motion is a bit unorthodox but so was Brett Favres.
