Pete Thamel with Sports Illustrated recently caught up with former LSU head coach Les Miles to talk with him about the next chapter of his coaching career.

Miles told Thamel that he has "10 or 12 years left in the tank," and wants to win another championship at another school.
quote:

"I want you to know something," said Miles, who turns 63 next week. "I have 10 or 12 years left in me. There's plenty of energy in this body. I'm not a guy who lends himself to excesses, and I have great health. Let's go find us a place where the school wants to invest and win. And I say, 'Let's go!'"

"I have enjoyed the time. I think I'm a better football coach today than I was the Sunday after Auburn. I have a want to win, win a conference championship and have the opportunity to play for a national championship still in me."
Miles also told Thamel that he is willing to evolve offensively...
quote:

"Oh, absolutely," he said. "The evolution is always based on where your best talent is. I'm a guy that very comfortably sees the guys he has and can adapt. We can be gun run and throw 50% or more of the time. I can be very comfortable with a Cam Newton-style of player at quarterback. Or we can have a guy more comfortable back in the pocket. The reason we've had longevity is that we've had the ability to evolve and we will always evolve."

"I'm a guy that very comfortably sees the guys he has and can adapt" Holy frick. You can't make this shite up. That dude is delusional as ever.

Holy frick...did he really say that about his offensive adaptability? Because his offensive adaptability is offensive.

You know, I liked Les up until last year, but the more I think about how he screwed LSU and the fans, and the more stupid shite he says, I really dislike him more and more. He really is a selfish piece of shite, not the "good person" everyone claims he is. There's a few things that aren't public knowledge about the "family man" Les.

"There's a few things that aren't public knowledge about the "family man" Les.” This is VERY true

Never had much respect for someone who consistently placed blame on the players in order to deflect the criticism of himself and the coaches. No personal accountability.

"I think I'm a better football coach today than I was the Sunday after Auburn." Coach, that's not a very high benchmark.

Translation: "It pains me to see how much better the LSU Tigers have looked, played and FINISHED after I was let go."

"I'm a guy that very comfortably sees the guys he has and can adapt." Yeah Brandon Harris and Anthony Jennings were really good 5 step dropback pro-style QBs.

Les, you couldn't even adapt to putting the right QB on the field at LSU. YOU HARD HEADED DUFUS.

He was at a school where he could win a championship. Sorry Les, but there are about 9-10 schools that you can do that at, and you just left one of them. Chances of you getting to another one are slim to none

Toward the end, even the Gumps felt bad for us. As for being a better football coach than he was the Sunday after auburn, letting the computerized lee corso from the NCAA games call the plays was a better coach than he was. We gave the guy everything...and he gave us shite for the last three years.

Yeah, sure les. Keep telling yourself that and it may be true. If he couldn't win but 1 natty at frickin lsu with the crazy talented teams he had here every year, he will never get it done at a scool with lesser resources and support...which are the schools that he will be considered by as a head coach.

This man is a fool, he does not know what the words adapt and evolution even mean! Good luck Les. Hope you are able to fool an AD that you can "evolve". Just retire and do not taint your legacy anymore.

Screw that bastard Les for even thinking those comments!! He knew he had to make changes from last season and did NOTHING! Then, him & Cam decide Brandon Harris is the starter even after seeing him in Spring Practice and before the season- What were they watching??! I feel nothing for Les, wasted all that talent, year after year and having us struggle to squeak out wins due to his poor play calling and game planning, or he has his lost moments when he doesn't have a clue about time management. So glad his arse is gone! Go coach a high school team like Curly Hallman did!
