Multiple outlets are reporting that former LSU and current Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette was arrested in Florida Thursday for driving with a suspended license for an unpaid ticket. Per News4Jax.com:
quote:

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette was arrested on Thursday afternoon following a traffic stop in Jacksonville for driving with a suspended license. He posted bond and was released 24 minutes later.

That charge stemmed from an unpaid ticket from last November. Fournette was booked into jail and charged with knowingly driving while his license was suspended, Duval County jail logs show. Fournette’s bond was $1,508. He paid that and was released at 3:04 p.m.

You would think that agent of his would have had this covered. Oops, his agent has probably never done a business plan before. Hhe hired people that have zero business sense.

What kind of stupid fresh hell is this!?!? This was completely, 100% avoidable! I would bet he could have taken care of the initial ticket online. It would have taken 10-15mins tops to pay the original ticket. It is not like he does not have the money to cover the cost, and it is not like he has had a shortage of free time...

I haven't always been the best about taking care of business...in Shreveport, a suspended license for a DWI will get you taken in, just about anything else gets you a ticket, why Leonard was taken in is because, 99% he had a warrant for missing a court date on a different ticket, which triggered the warrant and the suspended license and the cop didn't have a choice

Driving on a suspended license is an arrestable offense in a large number of states. I've brought several people who had no warrants to jail for driving on a suspended license.

Driving on a suspended license will get you arrested in most states. You can get off if he's cool and let's you call for a ride, but it's probably hard to let a celebrity off because of all the media attention it might get, so he has to go by the book.

Love Fournette, but take care of your business. Don't consider yourself above the law.

I remember Patrick Beverly missing a Rockets game once being thrown in jail the day of for unpaid tolls. This country really needs improving in some areas.

it’s the “broken window” philosophy. If you let people skate on smaller things, unfortunately it can lead to bigger things.

I’m not sure what the whole backstory is here but arresting someone for an unpaid parking ticket seems extreme. Tow the car and make him call an Uber. You can have your $300,000 car back when you pay your $50 parking ticket.

It's called a Bench Warrant. Probably contempt of court.

It was a traffic ticket - not parking ticket.....

“Unpaid tickets” is a nice way of saying, he had a warrant for his arrest. It’s what happens when u don’t take care of your business. Him actually getting stopped was prolly cause he was gettin written up for another ticket and they noticed it. Lol. His fall from grace continues

Alleva could have used a similar response 34 days ago... "The LSU Tigers are aware of the situation involving Head Basketball Coach Will Wade and are continuing to gather more information. No further comment will be provided at this time.”......

Wow our justice system is beyond stupid when the cops can send a person to jail for an unpaid frickin traffic ticket! Leonard should have just paid the ticket but come on! Suspend someone's license and put them in jail? This is the exact reason why people hate cops! Leave people alone for that petty crap and treat it like any other bill/fee. If you don't pay it reflects negatively on your credit report. That seems a hell of lot more reasonable than jail for something as ridiculous as a minor traffic ticket

Texas does this all the time. Each state is different. Truth is LF is an idiot and needed a wake up call how the world works when u don’t take care of personal affairs.

You should have just said “Leonard should have just paid the ticket” and left all of that other bullshite out. There are consequences and laws to prevent people from being deadbeat POS. If you don’t like it change the law.
