LSU head coach Lane Kiffin was on the Pardon My Take podcast on Wednesday and said that managing expectations now that players are getting paid is less challenging because of how consequences can be enforced.
Kiffin said the players now have a 'professional' mindset and know what is expected of them to be a part of the team.
If the expectations are not met, players can be fined or even cut at the end of the season.

"I think with them getting paid, I don't think that's as challenging to get guys to do things because... 'we're paying you,'" Kiffin said. "If you don't want to do it, there is a fine system in place. Just like the NFL."
"I find it's actually easier. In their mind, they think they are like pros now, which is good. That's how we talk to them. So you have expectations. We expect you to do all these things, in the weight room, in the film room, all these different things. And if you want to be a normal student and not really do all those things, go see the GM and give back half your money, if you want to do half the work."
"It's easier in that way. You bring them in and explain what you have to do."
"And if you don't, there is a fine system for those things, but then what happens at the end of the season... You get cut."
