Joe Burrow Says He's Not Fazed By NFL Stadium Noise Because Its 'Way Louder In The SEC'

Former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow spoke with NBC Sports' Peter King on Sunday after the Bengals 41-17 win over the Ravens and was asked about the crowd noise in Baltimore.

Burrow responded by saying It "gets way louder in the SEC than in any of these NFL stadiums."

I asked him if the very loud crowd early in Baltimore affected him, and whether playing in the deafeaning stadia of the SEC got him ready for this.

Burrow: “We knew that they were gonna be jacked up for us to come in, and expecting to beat our arse. But we were ready for it. Playing in the SEC definitely, definitely helped. Gets way louder in the SEC than in any of these NFL stadiums.”

Translation: You’re nuts if you think the noise bugged me even a bit today. You’re nuts if you think it bothers me any day.

I asked Jacob Hester to compare the NFL stadiums to college and he also said it was no contest. He said that virtually all SEC stadiums were much louder than any NFL stadium. He did say Philly had the best insults from the stands, though.

He's mostly right. But Halloween night 2010, Saints vs. Steelers, the Superdome was right up there with Tiger Stadium for crowd noise.

Organically loud. Only a few NFL crowds get close. Now for piped in noise, I’ll gladly give that one to the NFL.

SEC has some of the largest stadiums in the world...not surprising but love the confidence.

Ever been in the Superdome? It rivals any college stadium including LSU.

Mikethetigerdc, been in the Superdome many times and no it does not rival any college stadium and definitely not LSU. Occasionally it gets loud but I have been going to Saints games for 45 years and I can tell you that a loud Tiger Stadium is far louder than the Superdome.
