The big topic at Les Miles' weekly press conference on Monday was the LSU quarterback situation.

Backup quarterback Danny Etling replaced Brandon Harris on LSU's third possession against Jacksonville State Saturday night and lead the Tigers on three straight scoring drives and a 34-13 win over the Gamecocks.

On Monday, Miles said that he will not name a starter for this Saturday against Mississipi State until he talks with the team but he did have this to say about the quarterback position.

Hummmm...Miles said Harris looked wonderful in practices and was on his game..and that Etling was just now beginning to "come around" as qb. Well, here is the true picture Les. The "CAT" is out of the bag!!!! Etling showed he has more awareness of what was happening on the field. He was more poised and seemed to have a bit more confidence than Harris. I am wondering now if there are other "CATS" that need to be let out of the bag, even if they may not have superior practicing abilities???

Miles on Harris: "We'd like to think that a respite from a starting QB and pressure thereof will allow him to take a deep breath." #LSU 12:41 PM - 12 Sep 2016 Clears it up for me

Dear Les Miles, you are not running the program as a friend to these players more like a father figure and when kids don't do the things that are asked of them they should see consequences right off or they will get the wrong idea. You are not doing Harris nor LSU any favors by making excuses for them and feeling sorry for them. Harris simply needs to put the work in the film and study his offense more where he is comfortable when running it. He should know where everyone is or direct them. He should be able to manipulate the defense and have much more self control when it comes to nerves. If he's not shown or told this how ever he more than likely will just do what's necessary to get by. You don't ask your team what they think YOU should do?? Wtf? You're the head coach and you tell them what's going to happen my man. You watch practice and put these guys in pressure situations then to see who's best with what LSU is trying to do. These boys want to win not have a vote on who they want to get behind. This makes no sense to me. Players coach or not they will respect your choice and will know who's in control of that team. They need a leader Les Miles

If Etling only began playing well within the last two weeks....how does he characterize Harris' play?! Etling looked calm and poised all evening. He never burned a T/O due to the play/personnel or play clock....he looked in total control of his OFF. Then we hear Sun he is in the bldg watching film...what's not to like?! He has earned 1st team reps, and with a healthy LF this Sat we should be a very balanced OFF, and tough to beat. GT!

He's lying through his teeth. Saying Etling only very recently began to play well makes it look like it's reasonable to not just hand over the reigns. Not that it really matters who is QB. The system and plays are uninspired, predictable, antiquated garbage that have no place in modern college football.

This man is an idiot. A fool. "Talk to the team"? Is he nuts? Does Saban ask the team who should play? Will he share his bloated salary with the team? This is t coaching, it's f-ing therapy. Disgraceful.

I think when it's said and done we will discover that les miles has mild retardation and bipolar disorder.

I don't believe Miles said anything as coherent as those tweets from Dellenger.

Harris almost colt Miles his job last year. If he had started Etling last week they would still be No. 3 in the nation and undefeated. I can't believe he would even consider putting Harris back in now. He should be shipped to some smaller school if there are any that want him.

"Miles just suggested that Etling only began playing well and executing well in practice over the last two weeks." LOL. It was obvious to every one else in the spring game, coach.
