Joel Klatt Shares His Take On Lane Kiffin, LSU Through Five Games

FOX Sports analyst Joel Klatt believes Lane Kiffin and LSU are right where they need to be through the first five games of the season.

Klatt acknowledged the attention that comes with Kiffin but said the goal is to get LSU back among the SEC’s elite and into the College Football Playoff.

“You deal with all of the crap that comes with Lane Kiffin and the attention that he gets... It’s a circus with Lane.

“But why do you do that? Because you want to return to Tier 1 of the SEC, and you want to make the playoff.”

---

Klatt also praised LSU’s defense, particularly its ability to pressure the quarterback.

quote:

---

“They have what I think is the most important thing to have in the SEC, and that is a pass rush. They can get after the passer.”

---

With several big SEC games still ahead, Klatt believes the Tigers are positioned to make some noise down the stretch.

quote:

---

“Don’t look now, but, like, LSU could absolutely make a run to the SEC Championship.

“So what is Lane doing right now? I think he’s meeting expectations.”
