Former LSU defensive tackle Davon Godchaux agreed to a two-year contract extension with the New England Patriots worth up to $21 million, including $16.5 million guaranteed.

Godchaux, a native of Plaquemine, La., played for LSU from 2014 to 2016 and was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He was traded to the Patriots in March of 2021.

He left a season too early. He cost himself millions on his rookie contract in a league known as Not For Long.
