During Monday night's episode of "Hanging with Hester" on Baton Rouge ESPN radio, LSU defensive back coach Corey Raymond told former Tiger Jacob Hester that wide receiver Mannie Netherly will switch to the cornerback position.

Netherly joined LSU as a former four-star wide receiver from Crosby, TX.

The move gives the Tigers added depth at the cornerback position after losing Donte Jackson and Kevin Toliver to the NFL Draft.

I have always said the difference between a WR and a CB is hands. Maybe the transition will be smooth and will mean a bunch of INTS.

Hopefully. Donte was talented, but he dropped a lot of passes.

We also have a plethora of Safeties that also should be able to play the position.

As predicted...had to happen with more than 20 WR and only 4 scholarship corners on the roster and Fulton being on the fence, it was necessary. It's likely the only way he would see significant action anyway. They recruited Devin White as a RB and look how that turned out at LB. One of the best in college football. We could hope for the same.

Agree. But it was pretty evident in HS that DW was killing it as LB as much as he was at RB
