Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports
Florida announced Thursday that they have chosen LSU as their homecoming opponent for the 2017 season. The game will be played on Oct. 7. Per FlordiaGators.com:
The rivalry between LSU and Florida intensified last season after both schools and fan bases traded jabs when the originally scheduled Oct. 8 game in Gainesville was postponed due to a storm.
The game was rescheduled for Nov. 19 and was played in Baton Rouge. The Gators made a goal-line stop in that game to win 16-10 and clinched the SEC East title.
After the game, Florida head coach Jim McElwain added fuel to fire by saying "LSU got what they deserved."
