Multiple sources are reporting that former LSU offensive lineman Andrew Whitworth plans to sign with the Los Angeles Rams on a three-year deal worth a total of $36 million. Per ProFootballTalk:
quote:

Whitworth plans to sign with the Rams today on a three-year deal worth a total of $36 million with $15 million guaranteed and $13 million coming in the first year of the contract.

That puts Whitworth on one of the worst offenses in the league — unless he can be part of a turnaround effort led by new head coach Sean McVay. The 35-year-old Whitworth has started all 16 games the last three years, and he’s a well-respected veteran who was a team captain. His absence will be a loss in Cincinnati.
The Monroe, LA native played at LSU from 2001 to 2005 and set an school record by playing and starting in 52 games during his career.

Good for him but it's crazy to give a dude who is already the oldest left tackle in the NFL that much money. Sure QB's can thrive past 35 but is gonna be tough for a dude closing in on 40 to stop all of the stud young pass rushers..

He's had a very impressive career. Amazing that his contract will expire at 38- speaks volumes to his consistency at the position.

Glad to see he's getting paid. Hope he can be instrumental in turning that offense around. Otherwise it might be a career limiting move.

He's had a hell of a run already... wouldn't really be limiting as he is winding down the career. Heck of a contract to do that with.
