ESPN unveiled their Football Power Index (FPI) projections this week and predict that LSU will finish 6-6 in 2018.

The Tigers finished 9-4 last season in their first full year under head coach Ed Orgeron and face an even more difficult schedule in 2018.

2018 LSU Football Schedule:
9/2 vs. Miami (FL) *in Dallas
9/8 vs. Southeastern LA
9/15 at Auburn
9/22 vs. Louisiana Tech
9/29 vs. Ole Miss
10/6 at Florida
10/13 vs. Georgia
10/20 vs. Mississippi St.
11/3 vs. Alabama
11/10 at Arkansas
11/17 vs. Rice
11/24 at Texas A&M

On Thursday's episode of the "Paul Finebaum Show," Paul and Booger McFarland discussed the expectations of LSU and Ed Orgeron for the 2018 season.

if we go 6-6, Orgeron will not coach a 3rd year

This is what happens when you hire a potato a your head coach.

What happens? A 'pencil dick' makes a prediction and the sky is falling? Double dose your meds and sleep it off!

Bull shite. The Defense alone should keep LSU from going 6-6.

Correct and it is possible that an all SEC CB will not report till August. Little bit of offense will go along way with this d line rotation, all sec/american linebacker and senior safeties plus Delpit. CB worries overblown - w Greedy all you need is one guy to step up, Joseph????? He could show up and be a freak he runs a 4.3. Why is 10-2 or 11-1 impossible. You guys have no way of knowing what talent shows up or doesn't and if you think 6-6 is possible remember so does Moron Finebaum and Phyllis from Mulva.

6-6 seems a little optimistic. Hire a real coach.

If LSU has a 6th loss. I predict less than 30k at the final home game. That is what get coaches and AD's fired

So we should be cool with 6-6 or we’re spoiled and unrealistic?

Even during the 3-8 1999 season we had 60k plus in Tiger Stadium. Don’t be so dramatic.

It took even Saban more than a year to rebuild at both LSU and Bama. There is a line in the sand on evaluating the program but it won't be this year. I am nowhere as concerned now in contrast to when Hallman was HC. We even survived him. If the worst happens, the program will survive that. However, for now back off and give the man a fair chance to let him do his job.

Show me where Saban was fired from every HC spot he had prior to rebuilding LSU? The difference here is that one created a winning program with shite and the other has created shite with a winning program.

How would 6-6 go over? I predict an angry mob marching on Ogre's office with pitchforks and torches in hand.

Every skill position player on offense has a new starter. I think we do better than 6-6 but winning the West is not going to happen.

Ceiling for the team is 7-5 so 6-6 isn’t unreasonable.

Interesting you found the ceiling.

If we get 8 wins does that mean the ceiling is still 7?

Finding 7 wins was a stretch, 8 seems out of the question.

I can easily see 6 losses. But that would depend on Florida and A&M 's new coaches. I'd like to think we roll those like we did last year, but we're talking about premium coaches with full support. Miami, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, A&M. Add in another embarrassing loss (MS State or Ole Miss) and we're not even considering another Troy loss.

Hopefully We win the close ones but It's hard to give us the odds when we have questions at QB and Running Back. We don't have any luxury this year like we did last year (and squandered that luxury last year also) with the schedule.

Sorry, Troy type loss, not an actual Troy loss

No bigg questions at QB.. Brennan is all that he is hype to be... Book it.. He will rewrite the record books at LSU...

6-6? Alleva would run and give O a new contract so some other team doesn’t snap him up.
