Last week, ESPN identified "breakout players" from every Top 25 College Football team.

For the Tigers, Chris Low picked LSU wide receiver Nic Anderson, who transferred from Oklahoma this offseason. Here's what he had to say:
quote:

8. LSU Tigers
Breakout player: Nic Anderson, WR

Even though he's new to the LSU roster after transferring from Oklahoma, Anderson has all the tools to be one of the most dynamic playmakers in 2025, especially with Garrett Nussmeier throwing to him. The 6-4, 220-pound Anderson sat out all but one game last season after tearing his quadriceps. But as a redshirt freshman in 2023, he set an Oklahoma freshman record with 10 touchdown catches and averaged 21 yards per catch. Anderson is back to full strength, and with Kyren Lacy headed to NFL, Anderson should emerge as the go-to receiver in LSU's offense. -- Chris Low

Yeah not sure Lacey is going to the NFL, isn't he on trial for killing someone?

Word is that when it all comes out Lacy will be a free man. He'll be playing in the NFL as eaery as this upcoming season if they don’t play around in the court system.

Not sure Lacy was NFL material anyway. He was ok with uncontested passes, but there won't be a lot of them if he were to play at the next level.

That's not my recollection at all, It seemed to me he had no issues with contested passes, it was the easy ones he dropped. It was as though he knew he had to concentrate on sideline and contested catches but those easy pitch and catch passes were the ones he dropped anticipating turning upfield.

Lacy is NFL material. He is big, strong, and runs solid routes. The mental part is his issue, clearly.

Lacy had zero problems handling any DBs he went against. He's definitely going to be another great one for LSU in the NFL. Not quite what we've seen recently, but no less than a Brandon LaFell kind of career.
