UPDATE: LSU QB Joe Burrow has been named the starter vs. Miami

If you were expecting head coach Ed Orgeron to announce a starting quarterback you will have to wait a little longer...

Orgeron addressed the media Monday for this first Game Week press conference of the season and said that both quarterback Myles Brennan and Joe Burrow have been told who will start Sunday night in the season opener vs. Miami but wants to wait to tell the team before announcing it to the media.

Orgeron will address the media again on Wednesday.

There never was a competition. Burrow will start. Orgeron was just letting Brennan( & others) think there is a competition and now is trying to keep Miami guessing

If it's that close and Burrow just got here, then it's Burrow

Fine by me. The team knows, and that’s what matters. We’ve only got six days to wait anyway. PS: it’s Burrow. But if it was so close, it’s more likely that a competitive talent like Brennan made more strides than the near-starter at Ohio State was a bust.

It's Joe, something we have all known since he's been a Tiger. Myles will take the team in two years. We are set at QB for the next 3 years. Next year will start our "bama like" championship run. Total dominance by the Tigers starting next year.

It see-sawed back and forth last week? That kind of scares me

And that is not a knock on the quarterbacks. It scares me that after all this evaluation time, the decision was see-sawing back in forth in the coaches minds. Orgeron was probably just trying to make it seem a close race and probably could have described it in a better way.
