LSU Football lost three key members of the personnel department this week and could turn to a familiar face to fill the Director Of Player Personnel position.

Current LSU Director Of Player Personnel Will Redmond is expected to take a new job at Auburn, and assistant personnel staffers Mike Ferrara and Jeremiah Bogan are headed to UConn and Indiana.

There has been some chatter this offseason that LSU could try to lure Austin Thomas back to Baton Rouge to run the personnel department. According to The Advocate, those conversations have happened:
quote:

Thomas has been at Ole Miss the last two years as the chief of staff, but there have been conversations about him returning to LSU, sources told The Advocate.

Thomas previously worked with the Tigers from 2013-17. One of the first people in college football to receive a general manager title in 2016, he returned to Baton Rouge for the 2021 season after stints at Texas A&M and Baylor.

We had a lot of success with Austin Thomas with working and managing recruits and personel. He’s been here twice but seems to always leave. How much is it going to take to retain him if we get him to come back?

I don't know why everyone is surprised by all this. It is a classic move. Hire back the guys that were let go or they let themselves go. No blame. BK is now hiring these same guys but, it is on his terms. BK knows them better and knows exactly what he needs from each person. Each person is coming back to LSU and is on BK's terms but, is also on there own terms. Good for them and look out, this is how a dynasty continues and how a dynasty wins multiple NC's.
