Not positive about that. Ohio State would have won @ Michigan and beat a top 10 Minnesota team. We need Michigan to keep it close, like a one score game, and we need to House aTm just to set up the chance to take it away once we beat UGA in the SEC Championship. Why would any Power 5 conf vote for that? It immediately restricts ever P5 to a single rep & doesn't actually assure the best team in each conf makes the CFP. If UGA or Fla won the weak as east with 2-3 L's but somehow beat a 12-0 West team (maybe like LSU?) would we really believe a 2-3 loss SEC team deserved a Top 4/CFP over a 1 loss SEC (or insert any P5 conf) bc of 1 bad game in the Conf Championship even tho they had a resume like LSU has this year?

I don’t disagree with your point. I’m only making the point that conference championships don’t really matter if a team is rewarded for not winning its conference. Maybe a better format would be the conference champ and the conference runner up. I find it crazy that high school and pro teams have the playoffs without any confusion, but college football can’t seem to get it together.
