Tom Fornelli with CBS Sports included LSU in his list of 10 college football teams that were hit the hardest by early NFL Draft entrees. The Tigers were No. 2 on the list behind Florida State.

LSU

Like Florida State, LSU is also dealing with the loss of six players. Derrius Guice is the headliner of those leaving early, but Arden Key will likely be a first-round pick as well. Then you have two of your top corners in Donte Jackson and Kevin Toliver leaving. Oh, and you have two of your starting offensive linemen in William Clapp and Toby Weathersby departing. That means you're losing 60 percent of your offensive line as K.J. Malone is a senior. In fact, of the 11 starters on LSU's offensive depth chart this season, only three players will be returning -- five were seniors and three more are leaving early.

I do not see any of those as a big concern. LSU has players to step up!

This is one of the biggest reasons we have not won anything lately. The need to start talking this kids into returning. When you don’t have a sr class you don’t have much hope. If you are considered a rd 2 or worse comeback and give the tigers a championship

Just pretend for a minute that you’re Arden Key. Could anybody aside from God alone talk you into turning down that kinda money? What about Derrius Guice with his dream to get his family out of the environment that his father got killed in. All he needs is money. I’m sure most of these guys are honorable men. And imo an honorable man is gonna take care of his family before he worries about a fan base.

Well statistically, he had the second best season for an LSU starting QB in the last 10 years. Unless the Old Folks home suddenly figured out how to coach a QB and run a modern offense, pray that we get anywhere close to that.

Having Tigerfan in your handle means you are a cheap shot artist these days.

Bama will surely miss Payne, Harrison, and Fitzpatrick. I can’t blame any NFL ready junior or redshirt sophomore for leaving school early though. I wish all the SEC players much success in their respective NFL careers.

All the annual defects leave and are productive. Yet, no hardware for LSU. Oh what a great time to be a Tiger

We return 3 starters on the offensive line. Charles, Brumfield, and Ingram. Malone was hurt majority of the season. Weathersby was a solid player, but I don't think we see a drop off at the RT position with guys like Deculus, Traore, and Magee. Clapp is the only loss that hurts on the O line. Also, we aren't losing our top 2 corners. The best corner Greedy Williams is back along with guys like Fulton, Vincent, and Surtain once he commits. We aren't losing near as much as they think we are. Key, Guice, Malone, Weathersby, and Toliver all missed a good bit of time this past year. I hate losing them, but the guys stepping up in their place aren't slouches by any means.

Agreed. Other than a replacement for Guice, the players on the current roster and the incoming freshmen are potentially as good or better than the guys we are losing to the draft. They just need a little experience. Time to reload.

Absolutely right. And most of the young linemen started most of the season, so they have SEC big game experience! This is why you recruit well and play em early and often, to get the most out of them before they leave. Non issue.

We have no proven RBs. Guice was out but D Williams filled in for him. Williams gone too (senior). We lost a lot on offense
