LSU coach Brian Kelly wrapped up his Wednesday press conference with a long update on injured wide receiver Kayshon Boutte.

The star wide receiver suffered a season-ending injury last season in October vs. Kentucky, followed by some rumors that he was considering transferring.

Kelly said that Boutte had a second surgery that went well that he is progressing nicely and wearing a walking boot.

He added that the two of them are working on their relationship and that Boutte is "re-engaging" with the team and in the classroom as he recovers from his injury.

Seems LSU has been snake bitten ever since the 19 NCG. Hoping fall turns the ship around

What was the 2nd injury? Still in a boot? He has been hurt since the fall and he is still in a boot.

“We’re seeing some really good changes” - Sounds like KB wasn’t a big fan of the new coaching staff, at least initially anyway.

Sounds like KB didnt think he needed to attend things because he was recovering from injury. BK wasnt down with that.

After two surgeries, I don't imagine KB was a big fan of anyone. Coach Kelly's conversations have been instrumental in getting KB's head focused, and not just on football.

Second surgery is never a good thing. Hope he gets back to form. Phenomenal WR with huge potential at LSU and beyond.

Sounds like when Kelly is done with football, he could bigger things. I’ve been really impressed with his leadership, and, quite, frankly, his maturity.

He ought to be mature, he’s like 75 years old.

being old is no guarantee of maturity...we learned that
