USA Today reports that 7-0 LSU would be the nation’s current No. 1 team using the former BCS computer rankings.

These same rankings had LSU No. 1 last week as well.
quote:

The newest College Football Computer Composite, calculated after Week 8's results, have LSU at No. 1 for the second consecutive week, with Alabama at No. 3. Nos. 4, 5 and 6 belong to the Big Ten, with unbeatens Ohio State, Michigan State and Iowa occupying those respective spots.
Clemson is No. 2.

"It wasn't broke. They shouldn't have tried to fix it."

Are you freaking kidding?!?!

You want to continue to use a computer that used ridiculous human polls as 2/3 of their formula to put only two teams together in a championship game? D-I college football was the only sport that determined their champion this way (remember that D-IAA, D-II, and D-III have had football playoffs forever).
The 4-team playoff is MUCH better, and it will be just about perfect when it inevitably expands to 8 teams.

That would have made too much sense.

I wish they would of just taken the BCS rankings to pick the top 4. I can't recall there being being an issues of who was in the top 4 just where teams were ranked in the top 4.

There should be no reason for Iowa to be in the top ten

The SEC does well in out of conference games. They have more wins, and just as importantly, fewer losses than teams from other conferences. Those relatively few data points have a disparate impact, but that is the principle reason the computers favor the SEC. Everyone beats up on the patsies, as they are expected. The SEC just does better in the few meaningful games that are played.

They've been spot on for a long time. It's just that the 4-team playoff didn't accompany it.

I hate to say it but I kinda miss the BCS. I actually think they're spot on (this week).
1) LSU
2) Clemson
3) Bama
4) Ohio State
5) Michigan State
6) Iowa

Yea, I agree actually.
