Report: Oklahoma LB Commit Jacob Phillips Schedules Visit To LSU
by TD Staff Reporter
January 11, 201712 Comments
Elite four-star linebacker and current Oklahoma commit Jacob Phillips will make an unofficial visit to LSU on Jan. 20, according to SEC Country.
quote:Phillips, a 6-3, 228-pound prospect from Nashville, TN remains committed to Oklahoma but said last week that LSU is the 'only school I'm still letting talk to me.'
As LSU attempts to flip the U.S. Army All-American linebacker, it will try to emulate an official visit for Phillips and his family. It’ll be their first trip to Baton Rouge after the 6-foot-3.5, 228-pounder added his offer from the Tigers last June.
LSU remains confident in its ability to land Phillips with the visit. Getting him on campus was the staff’s main objective for much of the Contact Period in December, when Dave Aranda reached out to the linebacker and GM/area recruiter Austin Thomas went in-home with him.

"They really want me bad, that's the only (other) school I'm still letting talk to me," Phillips said.
"They have been after me for a while. When coach Les Miles left, that's when it really picked up. As soon coach Orgeron was the head coach, he was up at my school."
