Elite weakside defensive end Landon Jackson from Texarkana, Texas announced his commitment to LSU on Sunday.

Jackson, a 6-6, 240-pound prospect from Pleasant Grove High School is rated the No. 5 weakside defensive end in the country and the No. 11 overall player from the state of Texas, according to 247 Sports.

He chose the Tigers over Texas A&M, Alabama, Texas, Ohio State, and others.

LSU now has seven verbal commitments for the class of 2021 with the addition of Jackson.

The expected UT-A&M battle for his commitment obviously didn’t take into account everything LSU has going for them right now. There’s a reason he committed immediately after the draft.
