Coastal Carolina sophomore outside linebacker Josaiah Stewart has included LSU as one of his top three transfer destinations, along with Michigan and USC.

The 6-2, 230-pound defender from Bronx, N.Y., entered his name into the transfer portal on Dec. 6 and received his offer from LSU just three days later.

Stewart moved from the defensive end to the bandit linebacker position in spring practice. He played in 12 games this past season with 79 total tackles, 39 solo tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, and 1 forced fumble. He was recently named to the 2022 All-Sun Belt second team.

Glad to have him looking at the tigers…but do we really have to go through all ‘top 10 lists” and “I’m taking my talents to…” stuff?

I think that’s the point. Perkins, Stewart and Womack creating a real problem for DCs, opposing QBs and their entire offense. If we can’t get a few really good interior guys who are balanced as for as pass rush and run stopping then we should just get a couple of big heavy run stuffers for situational football. With the players we have coming back, I think we have plenty of pass rushers but we don’t have guys who can just absolutely be a force stoping the run. We need at least 3 of those to add depth. Not guys to develop but guys who are ready. Go get Lee from Florida and Georgia has to have at least 1 guy who isn’t happy with his situation and would like to be a star at another school similar to what Georgia has built. Ohio State should have at least one. Go send some pot stirrers over to those schools and steal a few great players from under the table so we can get our thing going. Go get some Glenn Logan types, some Bennie Logan types, some immovable objects who are quick on the get. Clog that middle up and let the others clean up the edges and have a nice real middle backer or SS to be there in case something does pop free in the middle. We need to get our middle defense back solid. It killed us this year.

Is 2nd team all Sunbelt good enough for us? The guy is built like Frankenstein's monster tearing through a brick wall. Get him down here ASAP.
