Elite JUCO defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs has committed to Alabama over LSU, according to Jimmy Smith with NOLA.com.

Buggs is originally from Ruston, LA but has been playing at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston, MS. He is expected to enroll at Alabama on January 8.
quote:

The 6-4, 290-pounder is widely considered to be one of the premier junior college prospects in the country, and was recruited heavily by the in-state LSU Tigers, but after an official visit to Alabama this weekend, the disruptive defensive lineman decided that heading to Tuscaloosa was the best option for him. NOLA.com was given an official statement on his commitment that reads:

"LSU, thank you for giving me the opportunity to play in my home state. This decision was hard to make, but I will pursue my degree and compete for a national championship with the Alabama Crimson Tide. I just want everyone to understand how hard this decision was to make. Without having a complete coaching staff ready to roll, my family and I made the decision to sign with Alabama. Thanks for supporting my decision. Geaux Tigers."

Watched his film last night and not impressed at all. Very slow takes plays off and out of shape. He did not over power anyone either.

Hilarious all players that commit to bama from Louisiana end up sucking. Lol. Saban has officially destroyed what he built at Lsu. It's incredible to watch; Moses, Allen, now Buggs

People need to stop losing their mind over these. There are two months to go. We are still holding a top 5 class and don't be surprised if we get a couple re-commits after we name an OC.

3 elite in state recruits at positions of need going to our main rival (who is worlds better than us) is not a good thing.

Well technically we don't have a DL coach yet. Or is Jenkins coming back next year? At this point, Bama does offer a significantly more legit chance for these kids to compete for NC.

Hey I don't blame him or Moses at this point. Spots fill up fast for Bama these days take it when your offered

O effect, this is why you go after a big name for a coach, not a second stringer

I couldn't agree more...but 0 is not a second stringer, he is a never was.

Overreaching. LSU has been on a downward trend for years and fired their coach. shite happens in situations like this. Frankly, the gap is pretty wide at this point; it's not 2011. It's hard to blame the top guys no matter where they are from.

Isn't Alabama's coaching staff incomplete?

sprizzle2182102 months
we have a DC, DL coach, LB coach, and Saban...other than replacing Kiff, which has zero effect on his position, BAMAs staff is solid

Celebrating a top 5 class is premature. 3 instate elite athletes that would fill obvious front 7 needs. What's next? A commit from a 3 star DL from Alabama that saban did not want
