Elite five-star wide receiver Easton Royal is in Baton Rouge for an official visit to LSU.

The New Orleans native is currently committed to Texas, but remains a top priority for Lane Kiffin and LSU.

Royal, a 5-11, 190-pound wideout from Brother Martin, is rated the No. 1 player in the state and considered one of the top wide receivers in the country for the class of 2027.

Royal gave Texas his verbal pledge back in November over LSU, Ole Miss, and Oregon.

These are high school kids having fun. Everyone knows that the word commitment does not really apply to recruiting. It should just be called what it is, a verbal pledge. A verbal pledge that was made "at the time" and doesn't mean much. Signing on the dotted line, that is what matters
Until then let them have their fun and quit your bitchin

Brother Martin is. But the portal/NIL has made reppin, loyalty and general common sense non starters. The only two things that matter to players today.

1. How much $
2, How many people are looking at me.

Once you commit you shouldn’t be allowed to take visits.

I always hated taking pics. No way I'd commit to a school that wants me to do a photoshoot on my visit. I don't understand kids these days

It’s a “look at me society”. All individual glory. Team? What team?
