Four-star safety Austin Ausberry from University Lab in Baton Rouge revealed Monday that he will be making his commitment announcement on December 13th.

Ausberry, who is the son of former LSU linebacker and current Executive Deputy AD Verge Ausberry, will pick between LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Michigan, and Notre Dame.

The 6-1, 200-pound prospect is rated the No. 7 safety in the country and the No. 8 overall player in the state for 2022, according to Rivals.

It is better to be wise than smart. Wisdom is a trait of the Ausberry family. Austin Ausberry should do what is best for him. His decision can never erase the loyalty and hard work his father has shown to LSU. All we can do is hope LSU lands him. If we do, we must thank Corey Raymond for his hard recruiting work. Perhaps Kelly was so impressed with him that it intrigued him to want to coach kids with his talent and intellect, once Woodward popped the HC job question.

Played HS ball with Verge. Verge’s dad was principal of my freshman high school. Strict disciplinarian who always said “do what you are suppo’tadoo” Yes… SUPPO’TADOO

I would go into great depression if we lost this one, all things considered

It would be a bad look, if we couldn’t land him given the legacy, his dad’s employer, his high school is on LSU campus, etc. if we can’t put a fence around that, we are in trouble. I hope we keep Raymond.
