Four-star running back target Harold Joiner from Birmingham, AL (Mountain Brook) has eliminated LSU from his recruitment, according to Sam Spiegelman with SEC Country:

Joiner, who was planning to commit to the Tigers on Saturday, Jan. 6 at the U.S. Army All-American Game, has eliminated LSU from contention.

“It was going to be LSU. I was [supposed to commit], but they stopped talking to me and I don’t know why,” Joiner told SEC Country at U.S. Army Game practice on Monday. “I was shocked, kind of heartbroken. I was ready to go to that school, but I guess they didn’t want me.”

“They loved me. They were in my house talking about family, staying overtime and then they didn’t answer,” Joiner recalled of the December in-home visits. “They were supposed to call me on the early signing period about what they wanted to do, but they didn’t call. I tried to contact coach Tommie Robinson, but no one answered.”

LSU currently has two running backs signed for the class of 2018 in 4-star prospect Chris Curry and three-star prospect Tae Provens.

@TampaTiger, o won 9 games this season against opponents that combined to have a winning percentage of .375%. Take out the Auburn record, it's drops to .275%. that's pretty poor. You might be fine with it, but some of us aren't. Good ole Coach o also talked down about some players not competing or playing in the bowl game, but lets not forget that he himself quit the LSU football team when he was a student athlete. Like I said, no chest.

It is now a numbers game and the Early Signing has made the numbers worse. LSU only has 4 players remaining to sign and I would suggest to Recruits to sign early because now the numbers are limited at all schools.

Regardless of what anyone feels about our coaching staff. If we really wanted this guy and believed we had a shot at him, we would be in constant contact with him. I’m not buying Joiner’s story. He’s probably going to sign with Bama or Auburn, and just wanted to add a little intrigue to it all. I also mentioned earlier the possibility of Guice telling O he’s returning next year, thereby eliminating the need for Joiner and freeing up another scholarship for a position of need. I don’t think that’s the case, but Derrius is of high character and is all about the LSU program, so it wouldn’t surprise me at all.
