Talented dual-threat quarterback James Foster spoke with SEC Country this week about his recent official visit to LSU.

Foster, a four-star prospect Montgomery, AL left campus knowing that he is not only a want for the coaching staff but a major need for Ed Orgeron and new offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger.
quote:

"It was definitely a great experience,” Foster detailed. “The people out there were great. Everything about the school was great. It was fantastic. I enjoyed it so much and it was so much more than what I expected it to be. They welcomed me with open arms. They stressed the whole weekend how they need a quarterback. The whole time, the players were telling me that. The coaches were telling me that — that I can come in and compete for the job.”

“We talked a lot about how the offense is going up-tempo and will include a lot of no-huddle. Basically, they’re doing the same thing as my offense in high school,” Foster said. “We sat down, broke down film; we broke down my film and some of their film. Some of the plays that they run are similar to what I ran in high school. It’s some of the same stuff with tempo, a lot of RPO game.

“With Coach E, I feel like the offense fits me perfectly. The RPOs, the no-huddle. I feel like it would fit me perfectly.” Read more.
LSU currently does not have a quarterback committed for the class of 2018 and only has room for three more signees to complete the group of 25.

Foster along with four-star wide receiver JaMarr Chase and five-star cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr. could be the final three recruits to round out LSU's 2018 class.

He will play over Myles

@CaliTigerHB, he won't play over Myles. Myles holds all of the records as a QB in MS, and was a dual-threat in HS. He has wheels, even though he is listed as a pro-style. Narcisse is legit too.

Are we sure we want him for the last spot? I mean I want him, but given the other option?!

Last time we ran no huddle was under Arnsparger.

no huddle keeps the defense on the field, especially if it's 3 and out.....

Actually, I'd prefer Goodrich, but he is 50/50 at best and visits Georgia this weekend. Foster seems to me to be a project, as his passing wasn't very impressive, but then again who knows. I'll settle for either one of them but would prefer Goodrich instead.

If we do run this offense, gigantic if considering both of these guys (E and Ed) have never ran or coached around an offense like that, then Foster is the type of QB you need for it. Brennan should put up good numbers in it, but a legit dual threat would thrive in it. From what 0 has said in the past, this could be just more of the same lip service.

sounds like a drama queen saying how we don't have a quarterback. Can't expect Brennan, Lowell or Justin to help him out much now.

You sound like a drama queen trying twist his words into your own negative narrative.

James, buddy, they’re lying to you. They won’t go up tempo and no huddle lol.

LSU needs a qb in this class and all y'all can do is justify why the man should not come. WTH?

Hope he is the real deal if he commits cause I really wanted to see goodrich, surtain, Kelvin Joseph round out final spots on defense to sign and jamar chase for offense. Lsu needs help on defense. Still don't know what they currently have for production in QB for what Lsu currently has on roster. Did Lsu sign one too many defense tackle who sign early? Defenitely need every offensive lineman they signed

No, they signed that kicker that they thought wouldn't count against their 25 signee limit bc he was a graduate transfer.

soo LSU really needs a qb...even though they have 2 4 stars on campus, a rs junior and zeroed in on the #1 qb in the nation for 2019. Hope it works out.

I don't think you understand how important it is to have at least 3 reliable QBs on the roster at all times.

Come in and compete to play QB. That's what happens at Alabama, at UGA and at so many other schools and the quality recruits don't back down. Likewise, the true teammates do all they can to pump one another up. Backbiting and teamwork do not go hand in hand. That's one of the reasons why Alabama won the natty the other night. The starting QB gets benched and he's the first one to run out onto the field to congratulate his replacement on his success. We need more of that thinking and teaching. Hopefully that was being preached by O and not any "salesmanship". A kid who welcomes the challenge and has the "chest". That he feels the scheme he's been shown fits what he knows doesn't sound to me like he's some kind of a premadonna at all. I like all of what I'm hearing. If his actions align with his words, the kid has true character.
