Former four-star quarterback and minor league baseball player Cord Sandberg announced that he has committed to play football at Auburn over LSU, and NC State.

The Bradenton, FL native signed with Mississippi State in 2013 but spent the past six years playing baseball in the Philadelphia Phillies minor league system. He was rated the No. 8 dual-threat quarterback coming out of high school in 2013.

Sandberg took official visits to Auburn, LSU, and N.C. State and announced his commitments to the Auburn Monday afternoon.

He wouldn't have been a wasted scholarship since he wasn't offered a scholarship. He was offered a preferred walk-on spot on the team so this is no surprise he went to Auburn.
