Elite edge rusher Jayden Wayne from Tacoma, Wash., announced his top six schools this week and included LSU in the group.

His top schools are Oregon, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan State, and Miami.

The 6-5, 245-pound prospect from Lincoln HS in Tacoma is rated the No. 3 edge rusher in the country for the class of 2023, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Wayne was offered by LSU in January of 2021 and visited campus this past spring.

Crazy how far a guy falls (or climbs) depending on the school he chooses. Smith was the #1 Overall recruit before he signed with LSU. Now he’s anywhere from #2 to #30 on the various recruiting sites. Wonder where hed be if the Tide signed him?

Why did we have a midget showing him around campus? Though it’s nice to see Tiger Ree is still employed.

Give him a #49 jersey. He’s got that Mingo/Key look about him.

When it came to recruits in the past, I would sort of gauge them loosely by their offer list. So if for instance they had an offer from us, Bama, Ohio State, etc, you could assume it was a great player. Now, the same applies, but if I see A&M on their final list I can automatically put them in the "looking for payday" camp.
