New LSU athletic director Scott Woodward appeared on local baton rouge radio Monday afternoon and was asked to comment on basketball head coach Will Wade and his future with the team.

Here's what he had to say about Wade:

Will Wade will always have a cloud over his head regardless of how they try to spin his comments on the recruiting shenanigans with Smart and family. It would probably be best for all involved if he goes quietly sooner than later. Unfortunately, that is something LSU doesn't have a great track record of doing well. Maybe Woodward can pull it off.

The full quote doesn't doing good for Willy at all. I'll be surprised if he's the coach in a year or two.

It was the perfect answer, imo. And I will admit, I'm a YUUGE Will Wade fan. But, SW doesn't know what's potentially lurking around the corner. I still say it's strange that only Wade really had to go thru this.

This is not an ringing endorsement or a sign of WW's demise. Right now, he is the coach. Woodward said basically that he can't predict the future. Unless something comes out that hasn't already then he will remain employed by LSU! Nothing more... nothing less!

Talk about selective journalism. Brooks left off the last sentence, "but things change and minds change." It went "Woodward said. “It will be that way until it’s not. I hope he’s our coach for a long time, but things change and minds change." Then he said "we could go round and round for hours and hours to do that. But right now he’s our basketball coach.”"

I can see some of the standard "fearmongers" have posted comments already. No proof or evidence of any wrongdoing by Coach Wade exists. I think we would have known by now if there was anything.

Surely you aren't that naive. “Dude,” Wade continued to Dawkins, referring to the third party involved in the recruitment, “I went to him with a [expletive] strong-ass offer about a month ago. [Expletive] strong. “The problem was, I know why he didn’t take it now, it was [expletive] tilted toward the family a little bit,” Wade continued. “It was tilted toward taking care of the mom, taking care of the kid. Like it was tilted towards that. Now I know for a fact he didn’t explain everything to the mom. I know now, he didn’t get enough of the piece of the pie in the deal.”

That is exactly how you respond to this minutia. Love that Woodward doesn't feel the need to add a bunch of additional noise to the situation.

No he isn't worried!!! Will Wade knows the 'full' story and he isn't worried. You are reading it the way you want to read it.

Agreed. I think WW is white knuckling it hoping the NCAA doesn't open an investigation.

What makes you think he is 'gone'? If Woodward thought there was anything against Wade, he would not of said, "I hope he is our coach for a long time."
