LSU was scheduled to open the season next week by playing in the Golden Window Classic in Lincoln, Nebraska but those plans have changed.

College Basketball Insider Jon Rothstein announced Friday that Saint Louis, who LSU was scheduled to play in the event on Saturday, Nov. 28 has withdrawn from the tournament due to COVID-19 reasons.

Sanit Louis is now planning on hosting the Billiken Classic event where LSU will play two games at Chafeitz Arena. Official release from Saint Louis:

Since SIUE is fielding a team, I'm looking for 9 other weekend warrior BB players to play in this tournament. Send your bios and most recent COVID screening results. Btw, travel will be at your own expense.

Why is LSU not playing in the event, at all, just because St. Louis withdrew?

That doesn't answer my question. LSU had three games scheduled for the other tournament. Why back out of that tournament, altogether, just because St. Louis withdrew? I don't care that St. Louis is playing in another tournament. We stood to get more out of that tournament in Nebraska then we'll get from playing one decent team in St. Louis, and another team who will destroy our RPI just by playing them. I don't get why LSU had to follow St. Louis to this other worthless tournament (or classic, or whatever).
